Working… sorta…

I currently have two part-time jobs. I am working with my grandparents and uncle to clean up around the properties and I am job hunting. Both of these jobs pay nothing but take up time.

I’ve been applying to jobs online. I’m excited to work for an A/V Department somewhere, but I’m absolutely afraid to move to a big city (Madison, Chicago, Ann Arbor). Not just the traffic or the people, but how in the heck do you find an apartment or place to live if you’re not even in that area? Maybe online classifieds I guess…………. bakah! I hate this growing up thing. It’s too complicated.

I just wanted to move home, find a job in the area, and begin a family.

  1. ann arbor apartments are fairly expensive, often you can find something cheaper in ypsilanti or saline and commute. as it is a major college town, there are always plenty of places available. i’d bet that most have online listings, but i have no clue how strong the job market is there.

  2. Ann Arbor is a GREAT place to live! When I lived in Ypsilanti, we had an apartment in Depot Town for 800 bucks a month. But don’t live past the tracks.

How do you find an apartment? Well, I found one by taking a couple days off work and drove down to Ypsi. Drove around looking at all the “for rent” signs and got applications. My best advice to you: an apartment complex with security door. (like a buzz in system). Also, a washing room in the complex is a plus! Beats hauling all your laundry on the expressway.

All in all, it wasn’t that hard to find a place. Especially right now with all of college kids moving.

  3. Mainly, I was thinking of finding a job first, then finding an apartment. I’d really prefer to live here at home, but there’s no work for an A/V Guy or broadcaster.
