I swear McDonalds intentionally makes you wait for a cashier and then intentionally messes up the order to push people to the kiosks and app.
We stopped on the way home at the McDonalds in Ithaca (which has always been fast and accurate when we do drive through or order with the app), but this time (on our smaller order) they charged us for a pop when wife ordered water and they made me an oreo flurry when I really wanted the new s’mores flurry (which I pointed up to when I ordered).
To really rub it in, when Wife went over to say, “hey this isn’t right,” the cashier basically called us liars and said she’d “asked him twice to double check” that I’d really wanted the oreo one. I know my memory isn’t the greatest, but wife and I are both sure that I said “s’mores” and that there was no double-check.
By this time I’d already eaten half the thing (because I just assumed there were s’mores pieces buried somewhere) and confrontation kills my appetite, so we just let it go. Man, I know I would hate being a cashier and I would probably do a terrible job, but it is really that hard to take some accountability and just say, “sorry, I must have misheard you”?
