We went up to see my in-laws this weekend (after having been too sick to see them last weekend). There was still a lot of snow up near The Bridge even though we drove through rain to get here on Friday. Kids got me outside after breakfast against my better judgement. I wasn’t dressed for going out in 10 degrees, but it’s probably the last wintry thing we’ll get to do this season. The ice was solid enough for us to walk out on the lake so Boy and I went for a chilly walk.
One of my fondest memories is building snow forts with my dad so anytime we see snow drifts, I can’t help but try to build it with the kids. I helped daughter get started, then she spent all day carving out an “igloo” that was big enough for Daddy to lay in. I wish I could share with you the enthusiastic “YEAH!!” the girl let out when I was finally able to fit inside.
If we had a couple more days, she probably could have made us a legitimate campsite.
