I’m disappointed in the Associated Press. I read a news article today that said, “A state lawmaker wants to ban restaurants from serving food to obese customers.” Upon reading further into the article, it clearly states that the lawmaker DIDN’T want this bill to become law (he says he’d have a tough time under this bill), but rather wanted to raise awareness of the growing epidemic that is obesity. The AP reporter ignored this fact later as he asked a local restaurant owner. Instead of asking the correct question, “Do you see obesity as a growing epidemic?”, the reporter must have asked, “How would you feel about a law to ban obese customers from restaurants?” Two totally different questions which portray the bill in two totally different lights.
