I got this rejection letter in the mail. Didn’t have luck with Epic either, so my hopes that I’ll find a real job before winter are dwindling. Keep on trucking…
I kept this letter in my personal file for more than 10 years now because I always wanted to remember how it felt to be ‘at the bottom’ (desperate and wondering how bad things would get) only to have it turn around without the need to intervene.
It turned out, the person they had chosen initially failed a drug screening so they later had to call me (the second choice) to say, “I know we sent you a rejection, but we’re offering you the job now.”
It’s kind of a lesson in “let it be” and also, “it’s okay to be second.”
