escaping reality

I was playing a new video game, and i had just crossed over to the realm of Oblivion (its a firey hellish dimension). I go through this door and my computer dies. Because I have cheap parts in my computer, I assume it’s a stability issue and that the computer will restart. Instead, I hear this buzzing noise, look at my computer, and see smoke POURING out of the power supply exhaust!

So, my desktop computer is inoperative. I’m not going to buy a PSU until i get home. Once i thought about it, everything that’s essential to the rest of the year is sitting in my desk or on my laptop.

Its now, without the hum of the PC, that I realize just how much I was using that RPG to escape from my own reality. Now I have to deal with the things that I’ve been pushing off for the last month or two. Important things like the Magers Hall Constitution, my relationship with Court, class projects, and exams.

I know these are things i should want to work on, but i really didn’t have a desire to do anything. That’s why i was in the game.

I thought people were supposed to be excited about the start of the summer. Somehow, i have the “Spring Blues”.
