Cranberry Ginger Old Fashioned: My New Go-To Cocktail

Wife has been nearly bedridden for around a month now. She’s starting to get better, but she still doesn’t have much energy. With me doing “single-dad mode” to keep the household running, I needed a way to unwind once the kids go to bed. We bought that giant pack of holiday Canada Dry cans from Sams Club, so here’s a fun twist on the classic Old Fashioned that’s smooth and satisfying.

Yields: 1 drink Prep time: 2 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Honey Whiskey (like Jack Daniel’s Honey)
  • 2 tbsp Simple Syrup
  • 6 dashes Bitters
  • Cranberry (or Blueberry) Ginger Ale, to top
  • Ice

Equipment:

  • Highball glass

Instructions:

  1. Fill your highball glass generously with ice.
  2. Add the simple syrup, bitters, and honey whiskey to the glass.
  3. Top with Ginger Ale until the glass is full.
  4. Stir gently for a few seconds to combine the ingredients.
  5. Garnish with a candied ginger slice and an orange twist if desired.

Sip and enjoy your perfectly crafted Cranberry Ginger Old Fashioned! Cheers!
