Will and Jasmine practically commit incest because they understand how to be close to each other without crossing the line. “The line” being between friends who walk arm-in-arm / holding each other close / etc. and kissing / any sexual act.

I can write about this type of relationship, so I must understand it. But when it comes to actually being in a relationship similar to this (minus the incest of course), i fail and hurt both myself and the other person involved. This has happened more than once but recently i’ve started to notice my defense mechanism. When i get into a situation like this, instead of trying to learn where the line is i just shut myself off and become emotionally disconnected. It happened with Stace, it happened with Kate, and now it’s happening with Court.

If i could learn this skill without us getting hurt, that’d be super. But since that doesn’t appear to be the case, I suppose the next best thing is to simply keep physical distance, that way i can never be put into that situation.

I wont learn, but I wont hurt anyone.
