Because I didn’t get a new degree, I’ve been known to say that I “wasted” money going back to school to take some new classes a few years ago. Then I get involved with some electrical work and I realize that I learned A TON of stuff about AC utility power (which is sometimes completely backward from the DC power that computers and electronics use). I ended up spending significantly more than I would have liked, but I really got a lot out of that experience; even more, really, then I sometimes realize.
