Project Title Here
Basement accumulates water during periods of high groundwater and has high relative humidity. Basement needs to be waterproofed and have holes filled in concrete.
Items Needed
- Concrete (for floor)
- Concrete patch (for holes in wall)
- concrete or limestone “paint” for the walls
- Sump crock
- sump pump
- x ft of plastic tile
- jackhammer
- Concrete drill bit (to drill holes through cinder block foundation to allow water to drain)
- Peastone
Instructions
- Use jackhammer to remove concrete and loosen/remove dirt in a line from under the north-west window to the center of the basement; then another line from under the north-east corner to the center; then from that center meeting point over to the sewer line on the south wall.
- Drill holes below floor level in any exposed concrete blocks
- Dig out area for sump crock
- lay tile with adequate and appropriate slope and route it into crock
- Fill with peastone
