Just roll with it."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When your time is up; you&#8217;re leaving. Tim Russert, the legendary NBC journalist who I best knew as the moderator on <i>Meet the Press<\/i>, died today while at work. Collapsed of a heart attack. While I think he had times when he twisted information incorrectly, he did a good job of questioning politicians and keeping us informed. <i>Meet the Press<\/i> was what first got me interested in politics and current events.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/id\/wbna25145431\">https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/id\/wbna25145431<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Between the major flooding, recent deaths, and the various wildfires last year and those that are inevitable this year, its got me thinking that maybe we overburden ourselves with attachment. The stuff that surrounds me here in my living room, for example, does it do anything for me? The various books on my bookshelf, a quarter of which I haven&#8217;t read fully, the video games and DVDs that I own but hardly ever find time for, the set of pictures that I haven&#8217;t glanced at in over a year. Really, what good is it to me? Would I be upset if I no longer had it? I guess I&#8217;m not the right person to answer. Most of my stuff was given to me and the only thing I really care about is my new computer, simply because it is my lifeline to many many worlds and peoples. I&#8217;ve never gotten much out of pictures either. Other than to provide a practical documentation of my life&#8217;s history, to prove to others the adventures that I&#8217;ve been on, they really have no meaning to me. The events of our past only have an existence in our present because we allow them to. I did a lot of stupid and embarrassing things as a kid but it does not exist anymore. I have grown above and beyond those experiences.
