My existential thought for the day.

If we assume that every action we make now, have made, or will ever make are either predetermined by some divine force or are simply physiological responses to stimuli in our area then the only conclusion I can reach is that our souls, if we even have them, are simply here for the experience. The point of life is not to live peacefully, or avoid pain, or even to strive for any particular thing. The point of life would be to simply enjoy the experience.

I get so worked up about my image (living in a rundown apartment, having the certain look of my attire, driving an old pickup truck) that I tend to forget that it just doesn’t matter. What matters is the experience… the NOW. In fact, just today at lunch, I was reminded that the Hopi Native American Tribe has no word for the past or future [1]. The important thing to many people, cultures, etc, is simply the experience of the now.
