I totally agree with this article. The entire reason that I’m at all motivated in my work is because I have a huge responsibility. Not only am I vital to the radio station, I’m also an important person at Audio-Visual. Most times I’m the only personal available to do a job at that particular time. That’s huge! If I don’t show up, the department is in trouble, not just myself.
I walk by offices and places like that where student workers are (metaphorically) jerking off at a desk for hours. Not only is it boring for the student, but they’re not getting a damned thing out of it.
At least have them clean the office.
