I went out with Jon on Tuesday and we had a great time driving around and catching up. Being pulled into Jon’s world is always an adventure of its own.
We decided to go to Adrian and see “Night at the Museum.” The movie was alright (a 6.5 out of 10), but the funny part is what happened when we got there. To start off, on the drive to Adrian, Jon was telling me about how he’s developing this “Dr. Fate” type of power. How did he say it… “It’s knowing the exact time to hit an enemy for the most possible force, or being able to see the way that people and situations interact.” I pull into the theater parking and as i’m stepping out of my car I hear, “Hey Davenport.” I turn around and there’s Sue Renfer in the car next to me! Not only that, but her car had died and she needed a jump. I tell you, what are the odds of getting to the theater early and giving a jump to someone who lives in my apartment building 9 hours away? I can’t even imagine what Sue’s reaction must have been when she saw me pull into the spot next to her.
To conclude, between Jon’s “Dr. Fate” abuility and my sheer dumb luck, we could make an unstoppable super hero duo. At the very least, we’d have lots of stories to tell.
On a side note, Jon got me the “Louie the Rune Soldier” DVD box set. That was by far the best christmas present this season! Even though I’ve hardly every watched it with Jon, the medieval world that Louie lives in reminds me of the world that Jon pulls me into. Not to mention that Louis reminds me a lot of myself, being a very attractive, yet utterly hopeless klutsoid loser whos dreams far outstretch his actual capabilities. Wait a minute… I think I just dissed myself.
